To: Commanding Officer - Michigan State Police - Emergency Management Homeland Security Division, District 1 Coordinator, Emergency Management Homeland Security Division - Operations Center
From: Chairperson Jeremy Root Date: 3-24-2020
On March 17, 2020, pursuant to Section 10 of Public Act 390, as amended, I declared that a State of Emergency exists in the County of Shiawassee in response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. This Declaration by consent of the Shiawassee Board of Commissioners has been extended to April 30, 2020.
The planning and response aspects of the Shiawassee County Emergency Management Plan have been activated, and local resources are being utilized to the fullest extent possible. Despite these efforts, the County of Shiawassee realizes that local resources may not be sufficient to cope with the situation.
Accordingly, be advised that Jeffrey Weiss, Emergency Management Coordinator will provide liaison and coordination with any State and potential Federal authorities for assistance related to this incident.
