What is GIS?
-GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems. It is a framework for gathering, managing, and analyzing data. Shiawassee County has contracted with Amalgam LLC, to give easier access to Shiawassee County’s public information.
It appears that my neighbor’s fence (driveway, shed …), is on my property, what should I do?
-Please note, the parcel lines on the website are not survey quality and various factors may have the lines be off of where they should truly be. If you feel that your neighbor is encroaching on your property, you should contact a surveyor to see where your actual property lines are.
The information on my parcel is wrong, who should I contact to fix it?
-If your name, address, or legal description are wrong in the system, please contact your local municipality assessor.
How can I get paper maps of the data or the digital layer(s) from the program?
-Please contact the Shiawassee County Drain Office here regarding for mapping or digital request. Here is a copy of the pricing schedule as approved by the Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners. 2019 Pricing Sheet
My parcel is not mapped or is drawn incorrectly, what should I do?
