Dr. Brian Boggs is the County Coordinator for Shiawassee County. He is the former vice president of the education team at Public Sector Consultants, specializing in education policy. He managed and oversaw large-scale projects, including the Michigan Department of Education’s statewide special education monitoring and compliance initiative, Catamaran. Brian also facilitates and provides strategic counsel for partnerships, task forces, coalitions, foundations, and education service organizations related to P– 20 education systems.

Brian served as associate director of the Office of K–12 Outreach, adjunct professor of educational administration in the College of Education, and is an affiliate faculty member of the Master of Public Policy program at Michigan State University where he teaches courses on governmental bureaucracy and local, county, and state government as well as an assistant professor in international studies. He also teaches rhetoric, critical writing, and public policy, and educational law courses at the University of Michigan–Flint. In addition, Brian served as a high-school English teacher and central office administrator.

Brian holds a BA in English and History and an MA in English Language and Literature, specializing in Rhetoric, both from the University of Michigan-Flint. He also holds a dual-major PhD in Policy and Administration from Michigan State University. Further, he holds a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law with a focus on government and education law.
