Eligibility Requirements
Income
Gross household income must be within program limits. Proof of all income of all the adults living in the home will be required. Any bankruptcies must be discharged at least two years before program participation. The highest yearly income allowed is $43,575 for the household.
Taxes
Taxes must be current.
House Insurance
House insurance must be current.
Ownership
Owners must have owned the home for at least six months before application. A copy of your warranty deed or land contract must be sent with your application. If you have a land contract, the contract holder will be asked to give permission to do the work and also to sign any application mortgages. The home must be the owner's primary residence.
Floodplain
Homes in 100-year floodplains only qualify for one program.
Emergencies
Emergency assistance is available to families with incomes at or below the 80% median income level. Emergency loans are limited to $5,000 per household and are limited to situations that present an immediate threat to the health or safety of the household members.
