Shiawassee County is accepting applications for the position of a Part-time/On-call Youth Specialist.  This is a part-time position with variable shifts.  Qualified applicants must have at least 30 college credits or a valid high school diploma/equivalent with an additional 2 years experience working with a juvenile program.  Experience shall include work at a similar facility, child caring institution or with a Criminal Justice Agency.  Education in Human Services and Criminal Justice preferred.  Experience and education pertaining to youth highly preferred.

 

The Shiawassee County Non-Secure Detention Center is a short-term residential placement facility which is operated by the Shiawassee County Circuit Court-Family Division and licensed by the State of Michigan to provide round the clock supervision of youth who have been court-ordered into the facility or youth who have been placed pending court action.  Night and weekend availability is preferred, although a variety of shifts may be available.  Candidate flexibility is important in order to meet facility needs.

 

Salary Range

Starting at $9.79 an hour.
