As the official county repository for real estate records (deeds, land contracts, mortgages, etc.), the mission of the Shiawassee Register of Deeds Office is to provide accurate and efficient recording and indexing of land records, as well as safe archival storage and convenient access to these public records.

Our goal is to provide timely and quality processing of documents and to protect those records for the public.

Our vision is to always provide our constituents with excellent service.

Our online services provide a convenient and centralized way to access documents recorded in our office. You have the ability to search records by name and year. Indexes & images for Deeds and other documents are available from 1961 to present and for Mortgages from 1980 to present. More records will be accessible electronically throughout the year.

Due to County Budget Cuts the Hours of operations have changed as follows:

Our Hours: Mon - Thurs: 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm, Friday: 8am - 1pm*
Public Access Vault Hours: Mon - Thurs: 8:15am - 4:45pm, Fri: 8:15am - 12:45pm*

*When there is a posted County holiday, the office will close at 1pm the last day worked that week.
